モジャコ採取 Mojyaco (yellowtail larva) fishery
モジャコとはブリの稚魚で、成魚ブリになるまで2-3年を要します。
採捕の特別許可を鹿児島県知事からいただき、毎年3月から５月まで鹿児島県海域で操業しています。
この漁場は日本一のモジャコ生育海域で、品質の高い稚魚を採捕しています。漁の方法は、まず流れ藻を探してその藻に付いているモジャコを特別な網ですくいます。
Yellowtail larva (Mojyako) is a fry of yellowtail, and it takes 2-3 years to become a shipping sized fish. We have received a special permit for harvesting from the Governor of Kagoshima Prefecture, and we operate in the waters of Kagoshima Prefecture from March to May every year. This fishing ground is the largest mojyako growing area in Japan and catches high quality larva. The fishing method is to first look for drifting algae and scoop the mojyako attached to the drifting algae with a special net.

黒潮が流れる種子島の温暖な海域の特性を生かし、西之表港に生簀を特設し、稚魚から３０ｇ－１５０ｇ（年々変動する）に育て、ブリ養殖業者に販売しています。日本一の稚魚として日本各地のブリ養殖業者からの評価が高いです。
Taking advantage of the characteristics of the warm waters of Tanegashima, where the Kuroshio Current flows, a special cage is set up at Nishinoomote Port, where Mojyaco are raised to 30g-150g (which fluctuates year by year) and sold to yellowtail farmers. As the best Mojyaco in Japan, it is highly evaluated by yellowtail farmers all over Japan.

通年で操業しますが特に夏場が最盛期となります。
カタクチ、ウルメ、マイワシを棒受網漁という特殊な漁法で漁獲し阿久根市場に卸します。鮮度を保つために、特別な手法で素早く船に積み込み市場まで高品質で届けます。

最近では日本で捕獲高1-2位を争うカツオ一本釣り漁船に活イワシを提供し、活気のある漁師活動を行っています。
活きの良さからカツオ船からの需要は増々増えてきております。
